INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION DEPARTMENT
With its interest in promoting European standards in the field of higher education and integrating Bulgarian academic institutions with the world educational heritage, Burgas Free University has already gained international recognition and reputation.
It promotes professional collaboration and maintains good contacts with more than thirty universities all over Europe and the world. Burgas Free University has signed Agreements and Protocols for international cooperation with 21 universities and educational institutions in Europe and Africa, aiming at developing academic relations and long-term cooperation in the field of higher education, exchange of academic staff, student exchange and support of research.
The University is greatly concerned with the process of European integration of the institution and its preparation for participation in new European programmes. The University has been involved in 15 TEMPUS-PHARE Joint European Projects in the field of common course design, course accreditation, university management and institution building, as well as in a project financed by the USA State Department.
The University provides both staff and students with a stimulating and demanding academic environment and offers high quality training and solid foundation for future career development. The University enjoys a reputation for its achievements in implementing modern curricula, as well as educating and training the new type of professionals for present and future challenges. Burgas Free University is an innovator in the modern academic history of Bulgaria.
BFU is participating in the LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME/ERASMUS PROGRAMME of the European Commission.
The University takes part in other international projects.
