BANKS
AND EXCHANGE OFFICES
In
the town of Burgas there can be found branches of many Bulgarian and a number
of foreign banks: Bulgarian National Bank, United Bulgarian Bank, Bulbank,
First Investment Bank, Municipality Bank, Post Bank, Biohim Bank, Hebros
Commercial Bank, Cooperative Trade Bank, Dresdner Bank, Reifeisen Bank, Societe
General – Express Bank, Roseximbank, Neftinvestbank, National Bank of Greece.
All
banks are located in the city centre, close to the university. The customer
service working hours are 9.00 to 16.00 hrs Monday to Friday. The minimum
deposit to open an account is 100 euro or 200 euro, depending on the bank, and
withdrawals can be made at any branch of the respective bank in Bulgaria. The monthly tax for account service is 0,75
euro. It
is possible to open an account in BG leva. The minimum deposit is 100 leva, and
the account service tax is 1 lev per month. The foreign students can also make
debit cards Master card and Visa Classic in EURO or US dollars. The yearly
subscription tax for card service is 50 euro.
Before
leaving the country, however, students should be aware that an account can only
be closed with the branch it was opened.
In the town there are exchange offices in banks, hotels, travel agencies, as well as at different places in the central part of the city, and close to the university. The working hours are 9.00 to 18.00 hrs. |
