BFU organized the first Black Sea CRUISE regional event

On September 17, 2021, the Burgas Free University as one of the partners to the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) organized the stakeholders’ round table Burgas Blue Sustainability in Cruising and Yachting. It was the first of a round of regional event under the “BLACK SEA CRUISE – Sustainable Small-scale Cruising/Yachting” Project, and locally coordinated by Prof Milen Baltov, the BS SRIA GSO co-chair.

A special greetings to the event was placed by the Regional governor of the Region of Burgas Prof. Maria Neykova, herself a captain of 40-tons boat. Most topical was the presentation of the Burgas Port Plc CEO Diana Dimov regarding the progress in the cruising and yachting infrastructure in the aquatoria of the South part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Attended on the place by some 30 stakeholders, in respect to the pandemic limitations in the country at that moment, some of the rest joined through the online session.

The workshop was delivered and the outputs were assisted by the ICBSS of Georgia Chanzi as coordinator, Mateo Bocci, Thanos Smani and Christophe Le Visage. Based on their focus the predeveloped SWOT analysis was further upgraded to some challenges and opportunities. The media coverage, technical and visual support was provided by the Bulgarian national radio network Darik and in line with the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency complementarity.
