Burgas Free University, Bulgaria and Universiti Teknologi Mara, host successfully 6th International Conference in Governance and Strategic Management

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and Burgas Free University (BFU) proudly concluded its highly anticipated 6th International Conference in Governance and Strategic Management (ICGSM) on June 8-10, 2023 at BFU, Burgas, Bulgaria. It follows the 5th edition of ISGSM held last year at  University of Oxford Saïd Business School, and the editions held in Seoul, Manchester, Jackarta and Kuala Lumpur.

Under the theme "ESG standards and Securing Strategic Industries" the conference provided a conducive environment for in-depth discussions on emerging trends, challenges, and innovative strategies in governance and strategic management.

A highlight of this year's conference was the signing of nine significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), Memoranda of Agreement (MoA), and Letters of Intent (LoI) between Burgas Free University and esteemed academic institutions. The signed agreements solidify the commitment to further enhance collaboration in academic research, student activities, and exchange programs among the participating universities namely Burgas Free University, UiTM, UKM, UNISZA, UUM, UTEM, UMT, Politeknik Seriwijaya, Palembang and IBIK, Bogor, Indonesia.

The signing of these agreements symbolizes the commitment of all parties involved to foster collaborative initiatives that will have a profound impact on academic excellence, research advancement, and student development. The partnerships will facilitate the application of International research grant, exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources, enabling innovative research projects, joint publications, and faculty and student mobility programs.

Prof. Dr. Jamaliah Said, Director of the Accounting Research Institute, expressed her delight at the successful conclusion of the conference and the signing of the MoUs, MoAs, and LoIs. She stated, "We are thrilled to witness the establishment of these important partnerships, which mark a significant milestone in our ongoing pursuit of academic excellence. These agreements will undoubtedly broaden the horizons for our students, researchers, and faculty members, fostering international collaboration and providing invaluable learning opportunities."
