International Course “Marine Pollution and Coastal Ecosystem Health” – 18–22 May 2026
EUNICoast announces the opening of applications for the international course Marine Pollution and Coastal Health, which will take place from 18 to 22 May 2026 at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in Palma, Spain. The training is held in person and offers a unique combination of academic lectures, fieldwork, laboratory analyses, and work on real ecological case studies.
The program focuses on assessing marine pollution and monitoring the health of coastal ecosystems. Participants will work in multinational teams on specific challenges related to the Balearic Islands. The course applies the One Health approach, examining the interconnections between ocean health, ecosystems, and human well‑being.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with local representatives from fisheries and aquaculture, as well as take part in field sampling and laboratory research under the guidance of leading EUNICoast scientists.
The course is jointly organized by Université Le Havre Normandie and the University of the Balearic Islands as part of the EUNICoast Joint Strategic Initiative, and is supported through Erasmus+ funding.
