„ERASMUS+“ PROGRAM
The European Commission awarded the Burgas Free University the Erasmus University Charter for the entire period of the program “Erasmus+“, from 2014 to 2020. The Charter for Higher Education provides the general conditions for the European and international cooperation activities that BSU can carry out under the program.
The “Erasmus+“ program is the new European program for education, training, youth and sport, which was launched in 2014 and unites seven programs that existed until the end of 2013: “Lifelong Learning“ (“Erasmus“, “Leonardo da Vinci“, “Comenius“, “Grundwig“, “Study visits”), “Youth in action“, “Erasmus Mundus“, “Tempus“, “Alpha“, “Edulink“ and the program for bilateral cooperation with industrialized countries.
UNESCO DEPARTMENT OF “HUMAN RIGHTS AND CULTURE OF PEACE”
In 1998, an agreement was signed between UNESCO and the Burgas Free University to establish a UNESCO Department of Human Rights and Culture of Peace at the BSU. The main priority in the activities of the UNESCO Department is the promotion of civic education and education in the field of human rights, tolerance, democracy and culture of peace through the training of students, qualification of teachers and organization of international events for participants from Southeast Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea regions. The Head of the Department is Prof. Rumen Valchev, who is also Coordinator of the European Chairs of UNESCO.
