A BFU Student Reaches the Final Round of the Selection for Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN

Kristiyana Georgieva, a third-year Law student at Burgas Free University, successfully passed the previous stages of the national competition for the selection of Bulgarian youth delegates to the United Nations and reached the final round of the process. Kristiyana is also a member of the Student Council and, in this capacity, on 20 June welcomed together with the university leadership the first graduates of the Law program at BSU, who completed their studies more than 30 years ago.

For the twentieth consecutive year, Bulgaria is choosing its youth delegates to the UN. The selected representatives will work on issues related to the challenges facing young people in the country, the development of youth policies, and the promotion of active youth participation. During their 18‑month mandate, they will cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, state institutions, and non-governmental organizations.

As part of the Bulgarian delegation to the United Nations, the youth delegates will represent the positions and interests of young people in Bulgaria before the UN General Assembly and other international forums.

This is not the first success for a Burgas Free University student in the competition. During the 2023–2024 mandate, BSU student Galin Kostov was selected as Deputy Youth Delegate of Bulgaria to the United Nations.
