A seminar for doctoral students and young researchers was held at Burgas Free University.

In May, Burgas Free University hosted a seminar for doctoral students and young researchers titled “Publication Activity in Scopus and Web of Science.” The event was conducted in a hybrid format, with doctoral candidates and faculty members from various professional fields joining either in person or online — including the Center for Economic and Management Sciences, the Center for Humanities, the Center for Informatics and Technical Sciences, and the Center for Legal Studies.

The seminar was organized within the framework of project BG05SFPR001-3.004-0022-C01 “The Danube and the Black Sea in the Focus of the EU Strategic Innovation Agenda through Project-Based Doctoral Studies in the Green and Blue Economy and Industry 5.0 Management” and project BG05SFPR001-3.004-0012 “Developing Innovative Methods, Technologies and Models in Support of a Data-Driven Economy.”

The lecturers were BFU faculty members with extensive practical experience as authors and reviewers of publications in international journals indexed in globally recognized scientific databases. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evgenia Nikolova introduced participants to Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) — the most influential bibliographic databases in the contemporary scientific community. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Penka Georgieva presented key aspects of the use of AI in scientific research. Prof. Dr. Maria Neycheva familiarized young researchers with the specifics and requirements related to the structure of publications in refereed and indexed journals.

The attendees showed strong interest and expressed a desire for future events with similar thematic and practical focus.
