BFU is the second university in Bulgaria to receive accreditation from China.

On January 6, Burgas Free University received accreditation from the Office for International Cooperation (Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools) at the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for a joint Bachelor’s program in “Computer Systems and Technologies” with Jingdezhen University in Jiangxi Province. The cooperation agreement between BFU and Jingdezhen University was signed on August 5, 2025.

The accreditation is valid from 2026 to 2034 and represents recognition of the high quality of education, academic capacity, and strategic partnership between the two university institutions. The program will offer students modern education in the field of information technologies, combining European and Asian educational practices, as well as opportunities for international mobility, academic exchange, and cultural cooperation.

It is particularly prestigious that Burgas Free University, together with the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), are the only Bulgarian higher education institutions accredited to provide training under the cooperation program with foreign universities of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
