BFU Student Wins Third Place in EUNICoast Competition
Burgas Free University student Selena Dimitrova has won third place in the student creative competition "Waves of Change," organized by the Университета в Сасари (UNISS) within the European University Alliance EUNICoast.
Selena was recognized for her original comic book page, submitted in the visual arts category. The competition brought together original visual and audiovisual works by students from the alliance's partner universities.
"Waves of Change" challenged young creators to use art to explore the life, culture, and identity of island and coastal communities. Participants could develop their ideas across five thematic tracks: "The Territory as a Learning Space," "Cultural Encounters," "Behind the Scenes," "Coastal Identity," and "Home Away from Home." The visual arts category featured photographs, illustrations, and comics.
Selena Dimitrova’s award was presented on September 21, 2026, at the University of Sassari, Sardinia, during the official opening of the First EUNICoast Student Festival.
The success of the BFU student places her artwork among the top entries in the competition's first edition. It highlights yet another dimension of the opportunities EUNICoast offers to young people—enabling them to showcase their ideas and talent, communicate, and build new networks within an international academic environment.
Congratulations to Selena Dimitrova, and wishes for continued creative success!
