BFU welcomed students as part of the “Rector for a Day” initiative
On October 21, for the third consecutive year, Burgas Free University took part in the national initiative of Junior Achievement Bulgaria – “Manager for a Day,” under the motto “Rector for a Day.” As part of the event, young people aged 16 and above had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a real working environment, meet established professionals, and experience the responsibility of leadership positions.
BFU is the first university in the country to announce the position “Rector for a Day” as part of the initiative three years ago, thus starting a new tradition. This year, the university once again gave students the chance to take on not only the rector’s role but also four dean positions corresponding to the educational centers: the Center for Economic and Management Sciences, the Center for Legal Studies, the Center for Humanities, and the Center for Computer and Technical Sciences.
Candidates for the “Rector for a Day” position were Valeria Pramatarova from GS Rakovski Foreign Language High School and Ivelina Mladenova from Yordan Yovkov Secondary School. They demonstrated motivation, leadership skills, and interest in academic governance.
The dean roles were taken on by students Ivan Todorov, Manoel Dimitrov, Kristiyana Skopchanova, Monika Nikolova, and Rafaella Fasuli from Yordan Yovkov Secondary School – Burgas. The young leaders became familiar with administrative processes, document flow, and the work of the university’s management structures.
Participants had the opportunity to visit the Academic Affairs Office, follow the path of student documents, and attend a real university lecture, which added practical value to the experience.
BFU continues to support initiatives that inspire young people to dream, grow, and discover their path in the professional world.
