The team of Burgas Free University (BFU) presented the Bulgarian Sunday School (BNU) "Az Buki Vedi" in Cologne with the book "Five Tales" by Valeri Petrov. The event was part of the second transnational workshop under the project "Digital Transformation in BLL Education (Teach BLL 4.0), which took place on January 18 and 19 at the Bulgarian School in Cologne. The book contains a message from BFU to children to learn and love the wonderful Bulgarian language. The gift was presented to the director of the school Rositsa Bayraktarski by prof. Galya Hristozova, Ph.D., Project Manager. The Bulgarian Sunday School in the city of Cologne was founded in 2009 as a private parental initiative with the aim of systematic and consistent education of children in Bulgarian language, literature and native studies. In the beginning, the classes were led by the parents themselves on a rotational basis in several groups, But subsequently, classes are formed and training is assigned to holders with appropriate pedagogical education and experience in teaching multilingual children in primary and junior high school. In 2013, a non-profit company was registered to represent the school before the German and Bulgarian administration. Since 2014, the school has been included in the official List of Bulgarian Sunday Schools Abroad. "With regular attendance, the students of our Sunday school receive the right to take the exam in Bulgarian as a native language, organized by the German school authorities after the ninth/tenth grade, and the grades from the latter are entered as score-forming in the German diplomas of the students," the educational center adds.
