Burgas Free University Achieves Excellent Results at the National Civil Law Competition
The competition is held annually by the Department of Civil Law Sciences at the Center for Legal Studies. Ten teams from six law faculties participated — Sofia University, Veliko Tarnovo University, Varna Free University, New Bulgarian University, UNWE, and Burgas Free University. This year, the event was included in the official calendar marking the 35th anniversary of the university.
The performance of the BFU team — Martin Trendafilov (5th year, Law), team captain; Nikoleta Petkova (5th year); Ekaterina Panina (3rd year); and Kadir Ibram (5th year) — stood out with excellent preparation, strong public speaking skills, teamwork, and professional ethics. Their efforts earned high praise from both the jury and the guests. The team’s mentor was Assistant Philip Radinov, judge at the Burgas District Court.
The public speaking skills of team captain Martin Trendafilov were also recognized by the jury at the national “Kristiyan Takov” Civil and Commercial Law Competition, held at the Palace of Justice in Sofia on 25–26 April this year.
Guests of BFU highlighted the excellent organization of the event, made possible thanks to Assoc. Prof. Anna Cholakova — Chair of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Daniela Zareva, Assistant Philip Radinov, and the support of the Dean’s Office of the Center for Legal Studies, represented by Assoc. Prof. Hristo Pavlov and Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Koev.
Special guests included the founder of the competition, Prof. Dr. Silvi Chernev, the Dean of the Center for Legal Studies — Assoc. Prof. Hristo Pavlov, Judge Neyko Dimitrov from the Varna District Court, as well as many colleagues and friends of the Center for Legal Studies at BFU.
