Erasmus+ BIP "Become an ESG expert!" is being held at BSU
At the end of June, Burgas Free University held a successful Mixed Intensive Program (BIP) with the participation of students from 7 countries and 4 partner universities from the EU on the topic "BECOME AN ESG EXPERT!" The aim of the program was to introduce the participants to the standards for environment, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It was developed by the Center for Economic and Management Sciences at BFU and includes modules led by prominent specialists such as prof. Dr. Diana Sabotinova, Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov, Prof. Virginia Zhelyazkova from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Head of Postbank and Dr. Kiril Velichkov, Director at UBB and Head of ESG at KBC Bank.
Students from BFU, from Juridiskā koledža (Latvia) - Latvians and from Sri Lankas, Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice (Czech Republic) - Czechs and from Ukraine and from "1 December 1918" (Romania) - Romanians and Moldova, received valuable recommendations and practical advice for the implementation of ESG standards, including setting ESG goals, formulating an ESG strategy and recognizing risks and opportunities.
Most of the participants in the program also took part in the European Hackathon for Sustainable Development (on June 20-22), and the approved BIP will become an optional course for students at the Center for Economic and Management Sciences at BFU.
