First Conference of the European University Alliance EUNICoast
The European University Alliance “EUNICoast - The European University of Islands, Ports and Coastal Territories” (www.eunicoast.eu), has successfully organized its 1st online conference on September 27th, 2024.
The conference introduced the Alliance to the public and featured a set of selected talks in the five thematic domains covered by EUNICoast. Overall, about 80 contributions, proposed by the 13 partnering universities, were presented in a 7 parallel tracks organization. The e-conference was attended by 378 registered participants, including more than 40 participants from outside the Alliance.
Bringing together 13 European Higher Education institutions located in sea ports and islands, the EUNICoast European University Alliance seeks to create meaningful connections between maritime territories and communities, and empower students to engage purposefully with them and better respond to pertinent societal and environmental challenges.
Funded by the European Commission with over 14 million Euro, the project will officially start on 07th November 2024, envisaging manifold activities over a span of 4 years (2024-2028).
