With inspiration, talent, and a strong drive for knowledge, the eighth edition of the student programming competition CODE@BURGAS 2026 took place on May 16, 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00. The event, organized by Burgas Free University and Burgas Municipality, once again brought together young minds from across the country, united by their love for computer science and the challenge of algorithms.

CODE@BURGAS is not just a competition – it is a stage where students from 4th to 12th grade demonstrate their logic, perseverance, and creativity. Divided into three age groups – A (10th–12th grade), B (7th–9th grade), and C (4th–6th grade) – participants faced tasks requiring not only knowledge but also quick thinking and resilience under pressure. With the help of the modern automatic evaluation platform codeburgas.com, solutions were assessed in real time, turning the contest into a dynamic and exciting experience.

This year, the competition gathered 26 students from 11 educational institutions from different regions of Bulgaria – proof of the growing interest in programming and the strong community of young talents shaping the future of technology in our country. Among the participants were representatives of prestigious mathematics high schools, general schools, and training academies, all of whom showcased their skills with dignity.

In an atmosphere filled with focus, ambition, and inspiration, the young programmers proved that the future of the Bulgarian IT community is in safe hands. CODE@BURGAS once again highlighted the importance of early development of algorithmic thinking and gave students the opportunity to experience the true essence of competitive programming.

CODE@BURGAS continues to inspire, challenge, and shape the next generation of digital leaders.
