Visit to South Africa under the Erasmus+ program of lecturers from BFU

In the period 2-9 March, the acting dean of the CUN Assoc. Dr. Hristo Pavlov and Assoc. Dr. Anna Cholakova visited the University of South Africa – UNISA – in Sofia. Pretoria. The visit is part of the Erasmus+ program and is carried out at the invitation of the Doctoral School of Business Leadership at the University – SBL, Sofia. Midrand.
This is another visit of lecturers from BFU to the largest university in Africa - the result of the developing bilateral exchange of lecturers and students under the Erasmus+ program between the two educational institutions.
In the program of the visit, the two lecturers from BFU delivered lectures on topics from their scientific field to South African colleagues and students. Along with this, they presented presentations about BFU, Sofia. Burgas and Bulgaria, which were received with special interest and enthusiasm by the audience. The presentations and lectures were followed by questions and discussion.
In addition to the business program, Assoc. Cholakova and Assoc. Prof. Pavlov held a number of informal meetings with colleagues and students from UNISA and SBL. The hosts presented to the guests from BFU the old building of the university, which educates over 350,000 students, and the impressive library with 153 years of history. Ass. Pavlov and Assoc. Cholakova had the opportunity to attend an emotional ceremony of awarding diplomas for drone pilots to a group of young women trained under a UNISA project to combat unemployment, integrate and encourage women to create their own business.
Along with the business and informal meetings at the two campuses of the universities, the hosts organized for the guests from BFU a safari in the Pilanesberg National Wildlife Sanctuary, a visit to the Botanical Garden in Pretoria and a visit to the city of Sofia. Johannesburg. The developing bilateral cooperation under the Erasmus+ program with the University of South Africa continues with the visit of three South African students who will study at BFU this semester and three lecturers from SBL who will visit BFU in June this year.
