Living Lab on Maritime Law and Coastal Territories "Prof. Alexander Yankov"
Within the framework of the forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the most prominent Bulgarian representative in the field of maritime and international law, Prof. Alexander Yankov, PhD, the initiative to establish a Living Lab (open source laboratory) on maritime law and coastal territories "Prof. Alexander Yankov" вас адоптед. Prof. Yankov is a doctor honoris causa of Burgas Free University and was a long-time member (until his very end) of the Board of Trustees of BFU.
The laboratory is based at Burgas Free University, but its open source allows it to be a focal point for Bulgarian and international prominent representatives in the field. The collective interest in the laboratory was evidenced by the Marine Scientific Society, and the proposals are to channel the energy through a Special Interests Group - with a first rotating chairman Prof. Atanas Semov, Doctor of Law.
The readiness of Ms. Rositsa Stoeva ( in her mandate is the exec. manager for projects of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) to be in the capacity of "Ambassador for the Black Sea" was welcomed and the laboratory takes advantage of this opportunity. For his part, the Goodwill Ambassador of the International Maritime Organization, Captain Alexander Alexandrov, initiated relations with the maritime transport and ocean science communities for citizens.
