Student Council

The Student Council is a body for the protection of the general interests of students at the Burgas Free University, operating in accordance with the Higher Education Act. Its structure, management and activities are regulated by the Regulations on the Organization and Activities of the Student Council at BFU. The Council includes representatives of students from all centers at BFU and aims to protect the principles of voluntariness, equality, efficiency and usefulness of higher education, as well as the affirmation of university autonomy.

The Student Council participates in the quality management process at BFU by making proposals on behalf of students regarding the improvement of the educational process and its provision, the inclusion of students in research activities, the development of new forms of expression in student clubs, in cultural or sports activities at BFU, etc.

The Student Council establishes internal and international, educational, cultural and other contacts with related organizations in the country and abroad and works to raise the authority of the academic community and BFU as an academic institution. The Council participates in the National Representation of Student Councils and in activities to protect the interests of students in Bulgaria, as well as in volunteer actions, public causes and other socially significant initiatives.
