Programme Profile:
The students of Informatics and Computer Science receive fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of: operating systems, programming languages, software technologies, database, etc. They study: Object-Oriented Programming, Distributed Database, Visual Programming, Network Programming, Programming in Java, Web programming, Analysis and Design of Databases and Knowledge, Intelligent Systems for Decision-Making, Artificial Intelligence, Construction of Information, Office and Applied Systems, Computer Networks, Multimedia Technologies, E-trade, Information Security, etc.
Practical Training and Internship:
Provided is a specialized practice, which is a part of the curriculum, as well as practical training in IT companies. The students can join Erasmus +, take part in the clubs of Programming, Robotics, etc. Courses providing the opportunity for system administrators to obtain international certification are held within the CISCO academy at the Faculty.
Student Mobility:
The European programme Erasmus+ provides opportunities to the students to receive a grant and study abroad at our partner universities in the UK, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Greece and Turkey.
Career Opportunities:
The Bachelors of Informatics and Computer Science can work in software companies or set up a business of their own. They are prepared to work in all fields where computers and information systems are used – trade companies, banks, insurance and financial companies, enterprises, the army, police, the education system, etc.
Admission:
Admission of Bulgarian students is based on their matriculation exam grades or entrance exam grades.
Admission of international students is based on their secondary education diploma allowing them access to higher education in their country of origin.
